Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. January 26th is significant to the country for being the anniversary that marked the arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships in Sydney Cove of New South Wales to raise the Flag of Great Britain in 1788. Much like the Fourth of July, the time is spent celebrating and wearing the colors of the country's flag while outside with friends, family, food and drinks.
